The innovative aperture kinetics with nine aperture blades form the traditional polygonal aperture into a beautiful circle.

In addition, all SL II version lenses come with built in Nikon Ai-S CPU, which enables the full use of the camera's exposure control functions. It not only leads to additional accuracy of exposure, but also metering of the flash.

The lens barrel, it's knurled focus & ribbed aperture rings and the Ai-S coupling shoe are all made in signature all metal build making them a class leader.
